ATEB is the Association of Corporate Treasurers in Belgium, an association of professionals in the field of treasury. It is a not-for-profit organization. Our main goals are sharing experience, practical cases and workable solutions amongst our members based on full trust and confidentiality.
We represent the profession in Belgium and offer education programmes together with other associations of the financial sector (see www.febelfin.be). Our association has around 200 members. ATEB is member of the European Association of Corporate Treasurers (www.eact.eu) and of the International Group of Treasury Associations (www.igta.org).
Letter of the Chairman
On behalf of the ATEB Board I would like to wish all of you a prosperous, healthy and successful 2016.
Traditionally we ended 2015 on a high note with our year end walking dinner. At this occasion we also announced the Board’s decision to support with a EUR 5,000 donation Microstart, a non-profit organization that provides credit to entrepreneurs that cannot access the traditional banking sector. More information on Microstart can be found on our website in the Library- section.
In the mean time we started building the 2016 program and are kicking off the year with the inauguration in Belgium of a Best Practice Award for Treasury. The winner of the2016 Award will be announced at the occasion of an Award Ceremony on February 4th. We still have a few complimentary seats available for the ceremony. If you want to attend, please quickly send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
I also already would like to draw your attention to our General Assembly taking place at Deloitte on March 8th in combination with an update on the impact of BEPS on the Treasury function and organization.
Since regulation remains high on our attention list we continue to voice the Treasurer’s expectations in that area, both on a European level through EACT as well as on a Belgian level.
And to address the increasing time constraints and traffic congestion we are all subject to, we will increase the use of Webinars to address some of the topics we would like to tackle this year.
In a few weeks we will announce the program for this year, so that you can mark your agendas for those events that are of interest to you.
I hope that ATEB continues to be your preferred link with the Belgian corporate treasury community and look forward to meeting you in the near future.
